This whole “transtalia” thing needs to stop.

When I first saw it hoped it would just die off but nope, it’s gaining momentum.

Do you have any idea how disrespectful you’re being? Slapping a bunch of labels on your favorite anime characters isn’t helping LGBT representation in media, it’s just using bastardised gender terms like quirky little badges. You’re making a mockery with your “omg headcanon: America’s a dfab tri-gender demi-grey-asexual otherkin!” oh my god do you hear yourselves? This is exactly as fucked up as that god damned “fawn/fawnself” pronoun bullshit some people have been playing.

Those terms aren’t cute little accessories that you can just mix and match because you think it’s fun. Trans issues are real and they’re fucking serious, and here you people are making a mockery of them.

You’re making this fandom look even worse than it already does. Cut the shit out.

Hi, I’m one of the mods on the transtalia blog. And your commentary on it here is frankly really disgusting. First of all, you tagged your hate. I don’t really care if you hate on transtalia on your blog but why would you tag it? You want responses. So here you go, I’ll waste my time responding.

"Do you have any idea how disrespectful you’re being? I’m trans. I have a feeling if it was REALLY disrespectful, I wouldn’t be okay with it. Of course it would be rude to just throw terms on like badges. But that isn’t what that blog is for, or the whole thing in general. People want to see themselves in characters. They want to be able to identify with them— which is why a lot of queer teenagers have queer headcanons. It’s impossible to find this sort of thing just out in media. I can’t go see a movie with a trans boy and grin because someone like me is on screen being portrayed as normal. I don’t get to see my existence acknowledged. That’s why I have headcanons. I can look at characters I already see and everyone knows and I can put a little bit of myself into that character. It makes me feel validated and recognized. Is that so wrong?

"Those terms aren’t cute little accessories that you can just mix and match because you think it’s fun. Trans issues are real and they’re fucking serious, and here you people are making a mockery of them."

Don’t act like I don’t understand how serious this is. I told my mom I was trans and she told me to hide it from my oldest brother at all costs because she was afraid he would kill me. You’re right it’s a fucking serious issue. But putting terms to characters isn’t making people see this as a joke. We acknowledge the struggle in so many different places, and most of us in our daily lives. So why can’t this be an escape? We want to see happy trans people because it gives us hope. And it isn’t mix and match either— people put thought into these. People want to choose identities that they see in each character. It isn’t like we pull terms out of a hat and slap them on.

Also thanks for the immature picture. It really helped your argument.

Coachella is capitalizing on offensive Native American appropriation

Needless to say, many Natives are not fans of the trend. But that hasn’t stopped the festival from capitalizing on the “white kids playing Indian” motif and offering tipi rentals for the low weekend price of … $2,200? Paying rent in a New York City rat hole never sounded so good.

"White kids playing Indian"

Disgusting

Coachella, AKA white girls appropriating Native and Indian culture conference.

Lol @ white chicks “apprecating Native American culture.” I bet any of these white chicks can’t tell you which Native American nations use headdresses (which are SACRED and EARNED) and which nations don’t use them.

Because it doesn’t matter if a young girl is saying yes, it’s an adult man’s job to say no.
-

Emily McCombs, THE MYTH OF THE TEENAGE TEMPTRESS: OR WHY A YOUNG GIRL CAN NOT CONSENT TO SEX WITH AN ADULT MAN (via seriouslyamerica)

FREAKIN’ THIS!

(via pleasesendhelpp)

In the same vein it does not matter if a young boy is “lucky” to be having sex, it is an adult woman’s job to say no.

Loren Morris was just sentenced to 2 years for raping an 8 year old on 50 different occasions, and they won’t call it rape in the press because the victim allegedly bragged about it. As if “bragging” was an indication that the 8 year old pursued the woman as a man might, with charm and swagger, instead of an indication that he was a confused child trying to normalize and survive daily abuse.

This shit happens all the time. No one takes male victims of child abuse seriously, and we forget that mothers, teachers, babysitters, can all be assailants.

I’m not trying to invalidate the above point. But the “temptress” girl and the “lucky” boy go hand in hand, and we should end them together.

The Posterchildren is a YA superhero book series with an emphasis on LGBTQ+ and minority issues and you should click here to learn more! It contains quips, puns, butt-kicking ladies, and more tacky capes than you can shake a stick at.

Aclaremos esto!

Si!
